- 1 lb fresh organic strawberries
- 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts, chopped (optional)
Wash the strawberries and pat dry. Make sure strawberries are very dry by the time you are ready to dip into the chocolate.
Prep a baking sheet with a wire rack and set aside.
Insert a toothpick into the stem of the strawberry and set aside
In a double-boiler, heat the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil until the chocolate is melted and smooth, stirring frequently.
Dip the strawberries, holding them by the toothpick, in the chocolate. Make sure to allow any excess chocolate to come down before adding the toppings. Dip into prepared toppings of choice then place on the prepared wire rack.
Place the chocolate covered strawberries in the freezer to set for about 10 minutes. You can serve at this point and enjoy!
